Scot Gause has coached basketball for the past 5 years at the high school level in Denver, CO. He recently moved back to his hometown of Tacoma, Wa this past summer. As a new teacher at Columbia he is excited to coach the 9th grade boys basketball team.
Coach Gause attended and played basketball at Bellarmine High School. He went on to play basketball at Regis University (Denver, CO).

Teri Shimoda previously taught at Surprise Lake Middle School in the Fife School District for 10 years. She has been a leader in establishing the girl's soccer program in the district. She not only has been the head coach for FHS all those years but also led the teams at Columbia Junior High School and SLMS.
Coach Shimoda attended and played soccer at Kennedy High School , a consistent soccer power house, then and now, in the King Division of the Seamount League. She continued playing soccer while attending Pacific Lutheran University, and was a member of the 1991 National Championship Team.

Joe Jordan has been active in the girls soccer program at FHS, CJHS and SLMS for the past several years. He is also active with club soccer programs in Pierce and King Counties. Coach Jordan also assists the varsity team @ FHS and is head coach for the junior varsity.

Mr. Moseley is in his second season as Varsity coach. He's coached the JV here for two years and prior to that for four years at Charles Wright Academy. He has previously coached MS soccer.

Caryn Choate-Deeds begins her third year coaching track and field here at Columbia. Choate-Deeds ran track, cross country, soccer and basketball in high school. She attended the University of Idaho and is a former three school record holder in the 100, 200, and relays. After her competitive career she coached sprinters at the University of Idaho. She then became head men’s and women’s cross country and track coach at Gonzaga University. After three seasons, she moved to Bozeman, MT where she worked with the multi-event athletes and jumpers at Montana State University. In 1996, she began coaching at Eastern Washington University where she was in charge of cross country, sprints, middle distance, and distance runners. This is Mrs. Choate-Deeds’ third year teaching language arts as well. |
