Varsity girls beat Frontier.

Last night the varsity girl’s basketball team mounted a furious fourth quarter rally, but came up short in the end, losing to Bethel 21 - 29.  The sizzling shooting of Amber Swayze kept the Cougars close, but the deficit was too much to overcome.    

Junior varsity girls lost a hard fought game to Bethel by a score of 17 – 22.  Playing well for the Cougars were Carly Booser, Megan Schille, and Taylor Bohrer.  Great effort ladies!

The girls varisty basketball team traveled to Curtis yesterday and came back with a decisive victory.  Ciara Pedroni led all scorers with 13 points and great defensive intensity was shown by Ille Branch, Jazmin Simpson, and Alex Peterson. 

The girls junior varisty team lost their game against a tough Curtis squad.  Megan Schille and Jamilah Midamba made some nice outside shots, while Hannah McGunnagle and Lara Linden battled inside for some determined rebounds and putbacks.  Nice effort ladies!

The varsity girl’s basketball team defeated Spanaway yesterday 41 – 33.  Katie Watson’s 8 first quarter points helped the Cougs get off to a strong start and Jocinda Fox helped the Cougs finish strong with 8 points and 12 rebounds in the second half.  Stephanie Martin, Amber Swayze, and Jordyn Zumach also played well.  Great win ladies!

 The junior varsity lost to Spanaway 15-18 in a nail-biter.  This hard fought game came down to the last couple of plays, but the Cougs came up short in the end.  Playing well for Columbia was Lara Linden, Carly Booser, and Taylor Bohrer.  The lady Cougars play at Cedarcrest tomorrow.

Girls varsity basketball team lost to Cedarcrest yesterday 30 – 45.  A 4th quarter rally made the game interesting, but we came up short in the end.  Playing well for the Cougars was the 4th quarter combination of Jazmin Simpson, Ille Branch, Alex Peterson, TreAuna Culp, and Ciara Pedroni.

The girl’s junior varsity team lost their game by a score of 14 – 16.  The Cougars scratched and clawed their way to a tie in the final minutes, but were unlucky in the end.   Great effort ladies!  Come show your support for the girls basketball teams next week, as they play home games on Tuesday and Thursday.
