It was defense as normal when the Varsity fast pitch team played Frontier yesterday.  Hayley Eklund, Taylor Lytle and Ayana Hawk all made fine outfield catches, Erica Dines turned a number of infield defensive gems and Melissa Guthrie tagged out two girls at third.  Buoyed by Fridays hitting explosion the Cougars hit the ball with authority, giving their best hitting performance of the year, with Lauren Jennings and Taylor Lytle both reaching base three times.  However the Cougs again found themselves down as the 7th inning started.  Could they come back again?  A seven run deficit was quickly cut down and the Cougs brought the tying run to the plate but unfortunately fell just short, losing 10-8.

The Cougar JV Baseball squad suffered a tough loss against Frontier yesterday.  Austin Greene, Yusuke Ishiguro, and Dalton O’Niell each added a hit behind Dustin Brennan who had two hits and an RBI.  Mark Treneer played a solid defense which included a shoe string catch in left to stop a Frontier surge.  Tough game, men.  Let’s regroup today and get fired up for Bethel on Wednesday.

The JV fast pitch team continued their winning streak yesterday beating Frontier 4-1.  Jordyn Zumach led the team with great pitching striking out 13 of Frontier's batters. Way to go ladies!

The solid pitching of Broznan Kraus and Troy Myren combined with timely hitting paved the way for a 14-6 win by the varsity baseball team.
