2006 CJH Employees of the Year

Congratulations to Mrs. Visser and Mr. Hockman, recently selected as the 2006 CJH Employees of the Year!

Here are some comments about these fine individuals from their colleagues.

Mr. Hockman:

This teacher does a superior job in challenging students and provides many extra activities for them. I hear nothing but positive comments about how great a curriculum is provided. This teacher has over 20 years now in our district of professional teaching. He wrote most of our 8th grade LA curriculum, took on both Honors courses, publishes a top notch newspaper, and continues to direct his own plays/musicals. He gets better each year! A great Department Head, wonderful director and one of the most creative and entertainingly funny people I know. He has turned the teaching of LA into an art. He is a master of his craft and I'm reasonably sure he's forgotten more about teaching English than I will ever know. Dave knows how to make learning fun. He is very creative and inventive in how he presents the curriculum. He never stops working. He is an excellent teacher.

Mrs. Visser

Diana is sometimes the first person the students see when they get to school. She always has a smile and is very patient and understanding with the students. She is a fabulous cook and treats the staff like royalty. You can tell that the ladies she works with enjoy being there with her. The kitchen speaks for itself. Always works 110%. Cares about the staff and students and makes sure we're all well fed. Diana is very capable in her duties. She handles any situation that is thrown her way from the power being out and field trips to her daily lunch and breakfast routine with efficiency and grace. Not only do she and her staff take care of the kids' breakfast and lunch needs, but she also takes care of the staff members. She knows all the kids by name/number and helps with a student that needs a little extra such as crackers or granola bar because they are not feeling well. She is a kind and generous person. Great lunch program, works well with kids. She makes the best lunches.
