We will have a vocab test on application 4  on Thurs.  They will have a writing assignment Wed.

Students have the syllabus for this class.  The first book report is due Nov. 3rd. We will select books on Tues. 9/9. Students should be reading their books for at least 15 minutes nightly.

Students will receive a composition notebook from me in which they will keep notes, word of the week, spelling words, and vocabulary words with their definitions.  Students are required to bring this notebook daily as part of their materials.  If they lose it or use it for other things, they will need to purchase another one for this class and replace that which is lost including the work.

Students will be using pencil most of the time.  They may use pens with blue or black ink for homework assignments as long as they are neat. However, only pencil or eraseable blue or black pens may be used on tests.

This week students are working on vocab. terms with their test on Mon. 10/6/08

Students have the syllabus for this class.  We will be learning the 50 states and capitals and be able to place them on a blank map.  We will learn them as they came into the Union.  A fun website to go to to learn them is sheppardsoftware.com. Later in the semester students will need to learn the Preamble to our Constitution.  I have written it in the green area of this site.

We are now up to states 1-15.  Our next test will be around the 20th of Oct. A simple poster project was due today. Students were to use pictures or free draw convincing ways for the colonists to entice others to come from Eng. to America during the early to mid 1700s.

Students have the syllabus for this class.  The first book report is due October 30th.   We will select books for the book report on 9/9/09. They should be reading their books for at least 15 minutes nightly.

Students will receive a composition notebook from me in which they will keep notes, word of the week, spelling, and vocabulary work with definitions.  Students are required to bring this notebook to class daily as part of their materials.  If they lose the notebook or use it for other things, they will need to purchase another one for this class and replace that which is lost including the work.
