This course will teach your child to play the piano and introduce him/her to music notation and music theory. I assume that your child is beginning the course with no keyboard skills and that his/her playing will improve steadily throughout the term. I also assume that your child initially knows nothing about music notation. The music theory that your child will learn will help him/her to understand music notation and the structure behind the music that he/she will hear and play.  

This course will be an exciting opportunity for your child to learn the basic instrument required of all music majors - the piano. It will not only give them a better understanding of music and performing, but also give them a creative outlet. I am truly looking forward to an exciting semester and teaching the joys of music.
