The Select Choir is the newest ensemble at Columbia Junior High.  Students are chosen by audition and are limited based upon the balance between sections.  Students will further develop the skills taught in the Concert Choir, with emphasis on musical growth and increased understanding of vocal technique.  Students will perform 3-5 part music from varying styles and cultures, much of which is a capella.  In addition to school concerts, students have received Superior ratings at contests and participated in local community events and special school activities.    The Select Choir also takes a two day tour across the state, performing at a minimum of three public schools and a major university.  Grades are based on participation, performance and various music related assignments.
