Templates, Graphic Organizers, Graph Paper, etc:

PowerPoint Activities for the Classroom:  A number of templates and examples of how PP is used in the classroom.

Discovery Puzzlemaker: Make all kinds of puzzles for review.

Printable Periodic Tables:  Several different formats.

Dilution Calculations:  How to perform dilutions of different molar solutions.

Armchair Chemistry:  A sourcebook for middle level chemistry teachers.  Hundreds of activities.

Cavalcade Publishing:  A number of .doc/.pdf chemistry worksheets, also submitted by teachers.

The Science Room:  A high school science class page with great student notes and activities.

The Science House-Countertop Chemistry:  Neat demos and such with everyday household materials.

The Truth About Science: A Washington produced curriculum about scientific investigation and inquiry.

Professional Development/Local Resources:

UW K-12 Resource Guide:  A list of professional development opportunities for science teachers in WA state.

Washington Science Teachers' Association (WSTA):  Official site.

WA State LASER: Leadership and Assistance in Science Education Reform:  Resources and workshops.

South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group:  Educational resources, event calendars, etc.

PRISM: Puget Sound Regional Synthesis Model:  A UW group looking at environmental science from an integrative approach.

Pacific Science Center: A science museum in Seattle aimed at kids.

Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame:  New museum (opened June 2004) in Seattle.
Museum of Flight:  Aviation history museum including the physics of flight.

WA State Toxics Coalition:  Discusses toxins in our local ecosystem.

Friends of the Hylebos Wetlands:  Non-profit offering education ands stewardship opportunities about the Hylebos wetlands in South Puget Sound.

Supplies:

American Science and Surplus:  Cheap prices, with inconsistent stock.  If you see something you want, get it!  Huge selection.

Make a Spectroscope:  Using an old CD and some other cheap materials, you can easily make a class set of spectroscopes.
