Niels Bohr was a Danish scientist who lived from 1885- 1962. Bohr developed the quantum theory. He said that electrons are arranged in shells, or quantum levels away from the nucleus. The electrons on the outermost levels determine the atom’s chemical behavior. Bohr also helped to invent the nuclear bomb. The 107th element in the periodic table is named bohrium in his honor. |
