This is my fifth year teaching 1st grade in the Fife School District. Prior to joining this wonderful district, I taught 1st grade for four years in a neighboring district. I am excited to be working in such a supportive staff and community.
I graduated from Washington State University (WSU) in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. While attending WSU, I was a member of the Varsity Swim Team specializing in distance freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke. Later in 2004, I graduated from the University of Washington, Tacoma with a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Technology. Finally, I completed my National Board Certification in Early Childhood Education in 2005. I am excited to be continuing to work on professional growth through attending workshops and conferences as well as facilitating a Professional Certification Cohort through Seattle Pacific University.
I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends, shopping, hiking, and training for triathlons. I also enjoy taking walks at the park with my husband and two energetic dogs Cole (husky/lab mix) and Oden (Weimaraner).
I am excited to continue to teach first grade as it is always rewarding to assist children in the process of learning how to become better readers. The amount first graders learn and grow in this short year is amazing and wonderful! |
