POSITION: Fife High School
INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY TEACHER
(One year only leave replacement )
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate and CTE Certificate in Technology and Industry (or have the ability to be certified by August 15, 2008)
- Background in construction, CAD (Computer Assisted Drafting), woodworking, and principles of technology preferable
- Clear understanding of good instructional practices
- Ability to design and implement programs
- Hold a current First Aid/CPR card
- Supportive of collaboration and shared decision making
- Sense of fiscal planning, responsibility, and accountability
- Possess good communication/public relation skills
- Knowledge of State CTE guidelines and expectations
- Successful teaching experience at the high school level is desirable and experience teaching in a block schedule is preferable
- Desired teacher characteristics include: flexibility, creativity, organization, commitment to ‘effective schools’ principles, ability to project enthusiasm and express ideas clearly, good classroom management skills, ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies, and a willingness to model behavior appropriate to the school district and community
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
- Current fingerprints on file with OSPI with results satisfactory to the district
- Sexual Misconduct Disclosure process completed with results satisfactory to the district
