POSITION: Fife High School

INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY TEACHER

(One year only leave replacement )

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate and CTE Certificate in Technology and Industry (or have the ability to be certified by August 15, 2008)
• Background in construction, CAD (Computer Assisted Drafting), woodworking, and principles of technology preferable
• Clear understanding of good instructional practices
• Ability to design and implement programs
• Hold a current First Aid/CPR card
• Supportive of collaboration and shared decision making
• Sense of fiscal planning, responsibility, and accountability
• Possess good communication/public relation skills
• Knowledge of State CTE guidelines and expectations
• Successful teaching experience at the high school level is desirable and experience teaching in a block schedule is preferable
• Desired teacher characteristics include:  flexibility, creativity, organization, commitment to ‘effective schools’ principles, ability to project enthusiasm and express ideas clearly, good classroom management skills, ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies, and a willingness to model behavior appropriate to the school district and community

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

• Current fingerprints on file with OSPI with results satisfactory to the district
• Sexual Misconduct Disclosure process completed with results satisfactory to the district
