EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY INFORMATION

Welcome to the Human Resources of Fife School District. We are a Drug-Free Workplace and an equal opportunity employer that recruits qualified and motivated applicants for a variety of certified and/or classified vacancies. Applying for a position with Fife is a two (2) step process.

1. An individual must have on file in the Human Resources Department, a complete application in the area for which one is qualified to be employed, which could be either certificated, classified, and/or administrative. Completeness and legibility of the application are very crucial to being considered for employment.

Information from the packet is used by Human Resourcesl Department staff members to assess an applicant's job-related qualifications. These qualifications are the basis upon which applicants are selected for referral to work site supervisors. Screening of applicants for a specific vacancy is a process of matching job-required qualifications with educational background, work experience, work-related references, and other relevant information about applicants. Therefore, we encourage anyone considering employment to remember that the application serves as an initial introduction, will be used to assess job qualifications, and is a major factor in determining an applicant's potential as an employee. Give it the same attention that you would like to be afforded by Fife School District.

2. An individual with an application on file must apply for a specific vacancy prior to the end of the business day on the closing date in order to be considered for the position.

An application is valid for one (1) year. After that time, it must be updated by submitting additional work experience and references, if changes in employment have occurred. It is also the responsibility of the applicant to provide the district a current address and phone number. If you are applying for multiple positions a letter of interest for each position is required.

Fife School District No. 417 complies with all federal and state rules and regulations and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. This holds true for all district employment and opportunities. Inquiries regarding compliance and/or grievance procedures may be directed to Jeff Short, Title IX/Chapter 28A.640 RCW officer and/or Sean Whalen, Section 504/ADA coordinator. Both individuals may be reached at 253-517-1000 or 5802 20 Street East, Tacoma, WA  98424-2000.
