MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING BOARD ROOM


CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Board of Directors of Fife School District No. 417 was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by President Larson, who led the flag salute. Five board members were present; therefore, a quorum was verified.

ATTENDANCE Board members present were Larson, Scheidt, Rueber, Wolfrom, and Sutherland. Administrators present included Marti Harruff, Brian Aiken, Chuck Silvernail, Jeff Short, and Chuck Ziara. Recording Secretary Heidi Joyner was present. Others present who signed in included Monica Pardee and Joyce Bell.

ADDITIONS TO AGENDA Additions included items for the consent agenda.

BATES TECH COLLEGE Motion made by Wolfrom, seconded by Scheidt, and unanimously carried to approve the agreement with Bates Technical College for 2003-04 for technical high school.

WA STATE SCHOOL FOR Motion made by Scheidt, seconded by Sutherland, and unanimously
THE BLIND carried to approve the contract with The Washington State School for the Blind for 2003-04.

FISCAL REPORTS Brian Aiken reviewed the budget status reports and investment report.

APPROVAL OF PAYROLL Motion made by Sutherland, seconded by Wolfrom, and unanimously
AND VOUCHERS carried to approve vouchers and payroll as follows: General Fund, Warrant No. 70655 through 70825 in the amount of $153,268.76; ASB Fund, Warrant No. 8682 through 8751, in the amount of $78,664.14; Capital Projects Fund, Warrant No. 2632 through 2644, in the amount of $725,917.83; and Payroll, Warrant No. 86896 through 87058 in the amount of $1,447,913.75.

03-04 CALENDAR Motion made by Scheidt, seconded by Wolfrom, and unanimously carried to adopt the calendar for 2003-04 as amended with the inclusion of elementary conference dates.

MILK/DAIRY PRODUCTS Motion made by Sutherland, seconded by Wolfrom, and unanimously carried to award the bid for milk and dairy products to Smith Farms Dairy for 2003-04.

POLICIES Motion made by Wolfrom, seconded by Sutherland, and unanimously carried to adopt policies 2210 Grade Organization and 3207 Prohibition of Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying.

First reading was held on policies 3141 Non-Resident Students and 4260 Use of Facilities.

CONSTRUCTION REPORT Chuck Silvernail gave a report on the status of the junior high project.

DONATIONS Motion made by Wolfrom, seconded by Sutherland, and unanimously carried to accept donations as follows: $400 from Daniel F. Driscoll to Hedden Elementary School for fifth graders to attend Camp Seymour; $500 from Coca Cola to FHS for Renaissance; $1500 worth of surplus store vouchers from Boeing to FHS; $100 from Mark Fleming & Beth Andrus to FHS FBLA.

ADJOURNMENT At 8:24 p.m. there being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
