Project GLAD!

 

After school on December 9th, teachers from Endeavour, Hedden, Discovery and Surprise Lake got together with Suzanne Shade, Director of Teaching and Learning for the Fife School District, and worked diligently creating supplemental materials for units they teach to students. All the work is based around Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design). GLAD is a model of professional development in the area of language acquisition and literacy. The strategies and model promote English language acquisition, academic achievement, and cross-cultural skills. Fife teachers use these "GLAD strategies" within their teaching to help our ELL students (English Language Learners) more effectively understand the content.

 

As you can see below, the teachers worked together and Suzanne provided the dinner! Way to go! The next GLAD "make and take" night is on January 13th.
