Accelerated Reader (AR) in Our Classroom

  AR is a computer program that is used throughout Endeavour to motivate students to read and to check their comprehension of the books they read that their own individual levels.   Students are expected to be reading an AR book at all times during the year in my class.

    We set personal goals as well as class goals to improve our reading. As students earn points and reach goals they will receive beads, No Homework Coupons, and any other reward that we have donated or that I can afford to offer! Ask your student about his/her goal. If they don't have one, let's set one.  

    The ultimate goal that we are working on this year is to earn 1,500+ points by June so we can walk to the Milton Community Park to have lunch and play games. We need everyone's support and participation!

Read and Lead

Each student is required to read 20 minutes each night as part of the homework.  When the reading is finished, please record the title of the book and the minutes on a Read and Lead sheet.  Each student has one in his/her binder or can get one on the counter in the front of the class.
