Hello!
I am Mr. Adams and I
have been teaching Elementary Music since 1991. I received my
Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Puget
Sound and my Masters of Science in Integrating Technology into
the music classroom from Walden University.
I have training in the Kodaly and Orff methods of music education. I completed studies in the Yamaha National Teacher Institute for the Yamaha Music In Education system during the summer of 2007. I am a member of the Washington Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education and the Technology Institute for Music Educators.
In January of 2008 I was an invited clinician for the Oregon Music Educators State Conference.
My main instrument is Bassoon, but I am working on my keyboarding and guitar skills for use in my classroom. I continue to use and improve my music technology skills and keep up to date on resources for the elementary general music classroom.
Closer to home I am an Emergency Medical Technician/Firefighter (EMTB/FF) with the Key Peninsula
Fire Dept. My current position is coordinating and teaching public education. We have First Aid/CPR/AED classes as well as SafesitterTM classes for 10-14 year olds.
All my
activities, combined with my family, keep me pretty busy. I love
doing what I do and encourage all my students be persistant and
find something they enjoy!
