Science

     We will have a Science Weekly newsletter where we will have basic science-related reading, and short in-class investigations. We will be working with Mrs. Olsen in the kitchen to utilize the scientific aspects of baking. These projects will tie in with reading, math, and writing as well as science. We will begin our first major unit on Soils in mid-September.. Soils will tie in with many other themes throughout the year, including Mrs. Merdian's Kenya social studies unit, the school garden, and environmental themes which will be discussed in the future.

Our PTA will be inviting some science people in to do some science assemblies in January. Our school science fair will be on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008. The students will be expected to conduct and investigation and enter the 2008 Science Fair. We will investigate Changes (solids, liquids, and gases) in the spring.
