I am Mrs. Merdian and I have been teaching elementary school for 19 years.  This is my 18th year with the Fife School District.  I received my teaching certificate from Seattle University and  my Masters degree from Antioch University in Seattle. 

I enjoy exposing students to a wide range of learning experiences and topics and encouraging them to be enthusiastic learners.  I strive to provide appropriately leveled curriculuum and assignments to meet my students' varied skill levels.

This 2007-08 school year I am especially interested in teaching my students about various cultures and lifestyles around the world.  I also am very interested in helping to connect my students with the natural world - through observations, conversations, poetry and science lessons.

I am married and have a 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son.  We live in Graham where I enjoy gardening and the serenity of the area.
