Writing

In second grade students are exposed to and practice a wide variety of writing activities.  Poetry, story writing, letter writing and journaling are just a few. 

Paragraph writing is specifically taught this year with emphasis on having a topic sentence, detail sentences, a closing sentence and keeping all sentences on a focused topic.
