Team Staff Bio
Going into his sixth season as the
FHS head tennis coach, Chris Lundquist brings a wealth of
playing and coaching experience to the position.
Lundquist led the Trojan boys team to league
championships in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007, district championships in 2004 and 2006, as well as having players go to
state in 2003 (Dixon, Silvestrin, Lundquist), 2004 (Lundquist) and 2006 (Rogge, Medina, Gustafson, Scothorne).
Lundquist, a native of Tacoma, played the Pacific Northwest junior circuit,
from age 12 to 18 and was a State participant all three years of
high school. Following graduation, Lundquist attended Pacific
Lutheran University, where he played a year of varsity
singles before heading into training for his career as
a software engineer.
In addition to playing
tennis, Lundquist also strings racquets and has strung professionally
on the ATP/WTA tour for some of the best players in the
world. Lundquist holds the highest degree with the USRSA (United
States Racquet Stringers Association), as a Master Racquet
Technician.
Tennis is hereditary to Lundquist.
His father built the Northwest Racquet Club/Fircrest Tennis
Club and all of his family still play tennis.
Lundquist is a software
engineer with Pierce County.
He and wife Melody reside in University
Place, and have five children, Lauren,
Michael, Rebekah, Adam and Jonathan.
