FHS
Wood Working Class will build you a shed
Another
year is beginning and Mr. Beddes's construction class is in full
swing. As they have in the past, they will be building sheds for
only the cost of material. These are extremely overbuilt sheds,
built to the same specifications as your home (city inspector approved!).
They are built at Fife High and transferred to your home (As long
as you have a place that an 8 feet wide tow truck can access).
In the past the sheds were built 8'X8', 8'X10,' or 8'12'.
However, they can custom build them any way you like. The
students have put special doors, windows, and shelves in them, made
different roof types, put different kinds of siding on them, and
just about anything else that has been asked of them. For
a sneak peak on the quality of the buildings, check out CJH's concession
stand, the roof on the track storage building, and the new girl's
and boy's dugout.
Costs:
8'X8'
= 1002.78
'X10'
= 1177.28
8'X12'
= 1200.04
The
floors are built of 2"X6" pressure treated lumber with every joist
tied to 4"X6" skids with hurricane clips. This gives the ability
to set the shed on bare ground. Above the floor, is ¾" tongue
and groove OSB. The wall and roof framing is made up of 2"X4"'s
(16" o.c.). The siding is vertical 7/16" LP smartpanel (or whatever
you would like). And, the roof is covered with 7/16' OSB and 3 tab
asphalt shingles (or whatever you would like).
