Course
Description
Business
Law is the study of basic rules and regulations that govern our
business community. A basic introduction to law will be accompanied
by a more in-depth approach to consumer law, housing law and family
law. Courtroom procedures and legal structures will be reviewed
with emphasis on past and possible future precedents.
Course
Requirements
Students
may be required to attend one or two field trips to visit courts.
Major assignments include mock trials and unit, quarter,
and final assessments.
Course
Expectation
You
should arrive on time with your materials ready everyday.
All calculations can be done by hand, but for time reasons, a calculator
is recommended. As long as you can perform basic calculations,
any calculator will work. No extensions or exceptions will
be made for students that believe they need a calculator but do
not bring one.
Homework
will be turned in on time. Late work will be accepted, but
for everyday it is late it will lose 10%. For example, if
work is turned in a day late the highest possible score that one
could receive would be 90%, two days 80%, etc. This will
encourage everyone to complete his or her homework on time and to
be on track with the class schedule. Homework will be collected
daily, after questions are answered. If it is not ready to
be collected at that time it is considered late.
