Course
Description
Keyboarding
is an essential skill for today and tomorrow. Jobs in business
expect you to be computer literate. Other fields, whether
it is in a hospital, law enforcement, or hotel management,
all will require you to be familiar with the computer. In
this course you will learn how to key properly, how to perform
basic functions on a computer, and how to format basic business
documents. The course outline will be as follows:

Expectations
Come
into class with the expectation that you will have documents
to key and work to do. All work can be completed in class
in the time allotted. Late work will be accepted, but only
up to the Friday following the week it was assigned. Room
427 will be open for students to schedule time to do make-up
work.
Students
will be required to have a current Computer Usage Agreement.
If a student misuses a computer he or she will be referred
to the administration for immediate action. Misusing a computer
can be anywhere from a one day suspension to police action.

Internet
Expectations
Unless
the assignment requires Internet use, students are not allowed
on the Internet unless they have all of their assignments
in. If a student is on the Internet or in any application
that is not directly tied in with the current assignment,
students will lose 5% of their TOTAL grade. This is subject
to change.

Topics
to be covered are determined by the Pierce County Careers
Consortium and the articulation agreements we have with local
community colleges in the area. Upon completion of all of
the sections listed on the accounting agreement, a student
that receives a B and can key 35wpm or better is eligible
for college credit.
