Course Description

Students will learn how marketing is incorporated into all aspects of business. Students will be provided the training and opportunities to test their creative business ideas in a controlled environment. They will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the areas of business ownership, management, ethics, legal issues and a variety of knowledge necessary to establish and maintain a business entity. Students will learn how the E-Commerce plays a role in business.

 

Students will learn the following: 1) how to plan a business; 2) what E-Commerce is and how it affects the business world; 3) the principles of starting a business; 4) the 4 P's (pricing, promotion, product, and placement) of marketing; and 5) the principles of managing a business.

 

Course Requirements

  1. Complete a variety of projects in the following areas: Marketing Research, Advertising, Free Enterprise, Public Relations, Civic Consciousness, and E-Commerce.
  2. Complete Leadership Point Sheet Due Tuesday, June 14, 2005 .

Course Materials Required

  1. Notebook paper
  2. Pen or pencil

Teacher Expectations for students

  1. Respect the personal space and belongings of others.
  2. Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  3. Strive daily to achieve excellence in what you do.
  4. No food or drink in computer labs.
  5. No CD's or disks from home.
  6. No CD players, walk-man, or headphones.
  7. Follow FHS Student Handbook and FSD Electronic System Use Agreement Rules.

 

Grading

The grading breakdown is as follows:

 

  Tests/Quizzes   35%

  Daily Assignments   35

  Projects   20

   Leadership & Business Habits   10

  Total   100%

 

Grades will be updated weekly to Gradechecker. Grades determined using the following scales:

 

A 92-100%

A- 90-91%

B+ 88-89%

B 82-87%

B- 80-81%

C+ 78-79%

C 72-77%

C- 70-71%

D+ 68-69%

D 62-67%

D- 60-61%

F Below 60%
