Bell Assignment:  Two Things...

*TTV Crew...follow my direction please.  Talk to me a bit during class today.  Let's meet and decide very specifically what is going to be done and when.  You will be graded for this.

*In your notebook, label Bell Assignment and Date and answer the following.  What makes a person beautiful?  Lead in to a TTV Story Idea I want to discuss at beginning of class.   Find it real important to do this.  Many teenagers, especially girls, struggle with self esteem and appearance issues.  Society doesn't help.  Can we make a difference here at TTV to see people for their real beauty, not just some Photoshoped image in a trendy magazine.

*Beginning of class or on you own time...my oldest son's good friend has been through a very tough ordeal, but has been an inspiration for many.  Check out story.  Watch it with a critical eye as to how to put together an informative story:

1.  OK...Here's where I want to go today.

You should know by tomorrow...going to give you a hands on quiz on Friday.  No parnter when taking quiz...know your stuff:

File Management - accessing server, saving locally on your media drive, moving files around, converting file formats, etc.

Setting Up FCP - saving project to proper folder, ,setting up scratch discs, bring in media (graphics, music, video, etc.).

Basic FCP Editing & Photoshop Editing covered in class.

2. First Project to show what you can do...Create a Valentine's Intro for TTV.

Criteria:

a.  Widescreen Look...crop about 20% off top and bottom of your video layer.

b.  Look at some of my jumpback samples in TTV Intro Folder on the Shared Folder of the server.  Use one and make the colors work.  Change to Valentine's colors (pinks/whites/ reds), c.  Consider having a montage of pictures show up.  Pictures representing FHS.  I'll put some on the server.

SEE COUPLE SAMPLES ABOVE FOR BACKGROUND IDEAS AND MONTAGE LAYOUT IDEAS....THEY ARE JUST IDEAS.

d.  Edit together a 15 second sequence that ends up with a title which say TTV 'Valentine Edition' 2-15-2008.

e.  I'm looking for clean editing. clear titles and graphics, creativity, goes to beat of music, etc.

Graded on this and the best one will be used as the February TTV intro which airs on Feb 15th.

Once again, I'll put some Jumpbacks and Pictures on Server.  Maybe even some music.  May need to convert music files.

See what you can do.  Take the skills you have learned and add some new ones and see what happens.  Due tomorrow.
