Have several things to do to get ourselves organized before moving on to the next set of productions.  So I'll just talk about what I need different people to do today.

1.  Reminder:  You are not to use the internet for anything unrelated to what we are doing in class.  Abuse of this will cause you to lose computer priIiveges. 

PLAN FOR THE DAY

2.  Bell Assignment:  Notebooks are up front on yellow cart by my desk.  Get yours and in your notebook (following your most recent journal entry) write about the three main audio concepts discussed on the linked 'pdf' page.

We will discuss these a bit later in class.

3.  Apologize for yesterday.  There are days where my medication really make it hard for me to concentrate and focus.  Yesterday was a very difficult day for me.  Thank you to those of you that stepped up and helped and didn't just tune me out. 

4.  Let's talk about capturing good audio. Go over different microphones and their uses.  I want to explain how each works.  Let's do some practice audio captures and play them back, just to see how they sound.  Then let's look at how we can use Final Cut Pro to get the sound better.  I am going to give a quiz at the end of this class period to be sure you understood what I was talking about.  Let's also talk about adding music.

Concepts I want to be sure we cover:

*Different Mics and their Uses and best way to use.

*How Can we adjust audio in post.

 

SHANE - Talk to me about checking over cameras and cleaning the tape heads and labeling them if they are having any types of problems.

5.  Need to give out grade print outs and discuss with you.

 

 

6.  Discuss what we didn't really get discussed yeterday:

My thoughts about Senior Video...always needs a theme...my theme is the 'Field of Dreams' .  Why?  Because what graduates have ahead of them is a 'Field of Dreams' and do achieve these dreams they 'Must Go The Distance.'  This is just one idea spinning around in my head.

7.  Another thought....my friend has one of these (Smart car).  Not even for sale in USA yet.  Very, very cool.  Use this in transitions for Senior Video??  Brainstorm.  Brand new...only a few miles on it.  Part of his collection

Great job on last Friday's TTV!!  Amazing when I really look at all you did.  Pulled off an amazing episode.  Proud of you.  Inspiring to me as to what we can achieve the rest of this semsester with the talent we have.  Could be one of our best springs ever!

 

8.  Also need some help with the following:

*Getting entries ready for NSBA contest.

*TTV Shirts...need to order soon!

*Create FLASH VIDEOS of December TTV and TNT Video.

*Back Up and Organization of the G5 Master Editing Station.  Amber and Brian Help me with this in 4th.

 

Bell Assignment same as first period unless you were in my earlier class.  Those students need to do a quick internet search on Balanced vs Unbalanced Audio and explain the difference in your journal.  Prepare to explain to us as a group. 

Also...repeat students...I want you guys to edit together something from basketball and from wrestling shot recently.  Want you to import the video I shot from last Friday Night's game...save in a folder in your class two folder of your local media drive and then export as quicktime.  I will direct you on the quicktime export part because I want it sent to a specific place.    Want to talk to you guys about helping me with the Senior Video Sports segment and a highlight section for part of Monday's Life at Fife.

Alex and Brian...help me with the video contest stuff...I'll direct you.

Alex...work on bring together the various Homecoming Clips.  Once all together let's decide the scope.

Amber...ideas to keep brainstorming about the teacher idea.
