When your done, check the Oscar website and take a look at who won what?  Just for fun. Hoping it isn't blocked.  If it is, googling another Oscar site.

To Do Today:

The goal of the next few days is to really hammer the basics of production.  Camera, Sound, Lighting, Scripting and Planning.  Need us ALL have skills to pull together a solid video.

*Review Sound/Microphone Concepts discussed last Friday and set up stations for people to get certified on equipment.

*At some point during class I'd like to meet with those interested in being on the Senior Video Crew.

Bell Assignment: Label the date in your notebook and list '3' possible story or theme ideas for a Trojan TV we would air before Spring Break.  Stories need to be entertaining, yet enhance our school climate (ex - Senioritis?).  Save the random ideas for the Film Festival.  As always, we will include Recap, Upcoming Events, Sports, and Anchors...the next couple stories are for us to choose.  How we do Upcoming Events & Sports is always open for discussion.

Bonus Point Opportunities. 

I can't make everything happen on my own.  I need help.  I will give extra points to those that help me out with the extra things.  Need some people willing to step up and help with the following -

*Helping determine what needs to be filmed and being sure we have people assigned to film.  Everyone in class needs to film outside of class at least twice during a quarter!!  Some of you have already met this obligation.  Filming anchors during the school day does not count.

*Back Room Back Up for when Shane is not here.  Very difficult when we don't have an aide to manage the equipment.

*Organizing Film Festival

To Do:

*Watch 2004 Senior Video

*Talk about what needs to happen with this year's Senior Video.

*Help importing Sports footage once I get my Senior Shots.  Need someone to help me coordinate this.  NEED HELP BIG TIME WITH THIS...THANKS FOR STEPPING UP!

*Like to go over this following site. quickly to review mics.

*Want to try to get people to team up so that you have an experienced person with a non experienced person.  It will help train others to get up to speed the rest of you.

Please Note:  Attendance has been a problem for various reasons.  Some good, some not so good.  I am going to deduct points from the weekly participation grade I give when you miss class.  It really sets us back when you aren't here.

Music Video specifications...Video Due Friday for all Period Two Students

*Length....60 seconds max.

*Follow basic filming rules about composition, angle selection and shot type.

*Shots and movements in the video to go with the beat of the music.

*Use Soundtrack to edit your audio to the video.

*Actions must go with the music.

*Like to see some green screen and multiple people on screen at same time effect.

*Music choice must be appropriate for school.  Better run music by me before you go too far with it.

*Video needs to make sense. 

*Must make a script which details EACH shot you will take.

*Done right these might be some fun pieces to put in our Film Festival later this spring.

Bell Assignment:  Did you look over this site yesterday? following site. If not, read through it for review and be sure you know the stuff on here.  I'm going to give a written quiz on top of a hands on quiz tomorrow.

To Do Today:

*Watch about twenty minutes or so of Advanced Broadcasting Techniques video and take some notes.  Will do this as a class.

*Talk about help to get sports clips organized and imported.  I'll talk you through what I need done. (Vinny on football and then move on to other sports...ask for an athlete from the team to help you pick the best shots.  Austin for swimming.  Kevin for basketball.  Find others for other sports.

*Want to select two  or three TTV directors.  Currently I am thinking of Haley, Sina, Jordan L., and Conner   Want you guys to get together and plan and organize the next TTV.  When you are ready we will assign stories and jobs to different people in class.  Extra points given for this role and being excused from certain assignments so attention can be give to this task. 

*FYI - Pow Wow coming up on March 7th at 7pm.

*Students not organizing an upcoming TTV will be asking some of you to help with looking through sports tapes and digitizing the Senior Shots.  I know this isn't the most fun thing we can do, but needs to be done. By the way, link to Senior Video Planning Page.   I am hoping Vinny and Kirsten are going to be keeping track of the footage we have and need.  Started list in the black tape catalog notebook in backroom.  Hosley is supposed to be getting us a list of all the senior athletes in the different sports.

*You have some down time, grab a camera manual and learn a little bit more about the cameras.  Remind me to talk about the status of the cameras.

Bell Assignment:  Take out a fresh, full blank sheet of paper and put your three line heading on top right.  If you do not, you will get a zero on the quiz.  Write 2/28 Quiz on top left.

Wait for my questions which I will read outloud.  If you are not ready to go at 7:43 for this quiz you will lose two points automatically.

To Do After Quiz:

Watch a bit more of the Broadcasting Technique Video and write the notes in your notebook.  I plan to collect notebooks tomorrow to check that you have been doing them.

Go over assignments of end of March Trojan TV.  We will assign leads to these sections and pull people in as necessary to help.  TTV planning crew will lead this.

Talk about what other projects students can be working on - For example, Cheerleaders, Registration Video.

Someone put the badges together on print sheets of 4 in Photoshop.  Make a background 8.5 x 11 and put four images on each sheet and safe in P2 Badges folder so they can be printed.

Some may be helping with Senior Video sports clips. 

Need help with a couple other things:

*Importing and editing Sven and Ole together.

*Importing photos of pink and red students yesterday.  Create a folder on shared folder called Mary Photos.

*Bring equipment in from Shu's car and set up in shack for demo purposes.

*Want to set up camera in shack (broken GL2) so it records to a JVC deck and has a TV to monitor what it is showing.
