Students are accepted into Advanced Art after they have successfully completed the basic courses:  Basic Design, Drawing/Painting, and/or Three-Dimensional Design.  This course is mainly an independent study for students who wish to improve their skills through self-paced projects.  At the end of the course, students are expected to have a high-quality "Electronic Portfolio" , which is a culmination of their work. 

Students in Advanced Art are mixed in with other classes, but are expected to work daily on their own projects.  Each Wednesday, we have "Advanced Teaching Day" where students are introduced to new mediums, new projects, and new ideas.  Students are encouraged to explore and experiment.  This year that has included:

  • glass
  • solar paper
  • silver jewelry
  • tranferring images to greenware
  • collography (printmaking technique
