MOSAIC DRAWINGS... To start off the year, our focus in drawing was Realism and contrast in value. Students used exercises such as turning drawings upside down, grids, blind contour drawing, and value studies in order to train themselves to draw what they see. In this project, students cropped a picture of their choice, and used a viewfinder in order to draw it square by square. The results looked like a mosaic. Five goals were set up by the class, which then created the rubric for grading.
