~Frida Kahlo~ La Casa Azul
Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, spent most of her life in the same home outside of Mexico City. As an adult, she and her husband (artist Diego Rivera) moved back into her childhood home. They gave it the influence of their creative style as they painted it blue and filled it with exotic pets and artistic decor. The third grade artists of Hedden worked on their drawing skills by sketching buildings, trees, plants, animals, etc. They later used their sketches in their own final copy representation of "La Casa Azul."
"The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration.” Frida Kahlo
