Silhouette Landscape in Oil Pastels

After studying Paul Cezanne and completing their first tree drawing in watercolor crayon, the 5th graders extended their landscape experience with a richly drawn sky and a silhouette of their tree of choice.  They pushed their comfort zone of cleanliness as they smeared and blended the thick oil pastels with their fingers to create such incredible skies.  The results were definitely worth the messy fingers!
