Jazz Paintings

inspired by the Harlem Renaissance

The 4th graders had quite the challenge in this assignment.  Not only did they have to draw some very complicated musical instruments, but then they had to visually communicate the concepts of Jazz music in their painting.  The results were fantastic. Everyone had a different interpretation of how to visually show music in a painting.  The thoughtfulness and care that each student put into their painting was evident in the quality of work.
