Panasonic Kid Witness News announced today that Hedden's local KWN team won the Local Hero video category for the 2005 New Vision Awards Contest.  Steve Brown, KWN advisor, will be traveling with student reporter, Darian Harmon and his mom to New York City (click here to see pictures of their trip) to receive the award.  Panasonic will be providing them an all-inclusive trip, May 14-17, which will include lodging, transportation, meals and a fun filled weekend of activities.  The cermemony will take place on Monday, May 16th at the Panasonic Corporation of North America in New Jersey.  The ceremony will also be webcasted live on Panasonic's KWN website (visit the site).

Panasonic's Kid Witness News program is in over 200 schools across the United States.  Hedden's entry featured Darian interviewing his father, a soldier who is currently serving our country in Iraq, via cell phone. Click here to see this special interview.
