FIFE
(AP) - A dozen members of the Kid Witness News crew reported live
from last night's School Board Meeting. The school board and
those in attendance were amazed at the crew's skill and poise.
After their news report, a highlight video was shown featuring clips
from the live broadcasts that occur each Tuesday through Thursday
morning here at Hedden Elementary School.
KWN advisor,
Steve Brown, shared the origins of the program with the packed boardroom.
Hedden's team consists of 35 students in third through fifth grades
and are also coached by Hedden parent, Jamie McCormack. Students
write their script and turn it in to Mr. Brown each morning for
approval before going live with their news.
Parents
and community members are welcome to stop by the Hedden library
any Tuesday through Thursday morning at 9:25 to catch the latest
edition of Kid Witness News.
