Memorial Garden Planting

On Monday, Dec. 17, all Hedden students planted daffodil bulbs out front in honor of our former custodian, Mr. Erv Wakeman.  Mr. Wakeman passed away in October. Mrs. Grubiak, our principal, organized the garden campaign after a suggestion from Sandy Hassell, one of our parents. Mrs. Grubiak then invited Mr. Wakeman's family members to help us plant them. Jack Babcock, grounds keeper, was incredible in getting the grass taken up and the new soil and compost added for the planting. The bulbs were donated by Loew’s and Mrs. Grubiak.  We can't wait to see them pop up this spring!
