Our family is incredibly blessed to have so many wonderful
friends and
family members.
Special thanks to:
The Apple Family for videotaping Kyler's basketball games so
John can watch
them from the hospital.
Thank you to the Rounds for the generous, thoughtful care packages
for the
whole family. We are still enjoying the treats. Here's a family
that could
use a care package of their own with a new baby on the way and
chicken pox
already at home.
The Swalanders have been lifesavers. They have shuttled the
boys to and from
camp, baby-sat, brought Calen home from school every day, provided
cookies,
and spoiled all of us with care packages.
The Burger sent a fun care package complete with toilet paper, an uplifting Chicken Soup for the Soul page a day calendar, bath salts, coffee, candy, and a Star Wars hat for Kyler.
We have so many more thank you's but I am out of time since
Kyler is here
with me. Stay tuned for more thank you's.
And finally some family news.
Gramma and Papa have been working hard (a huge understatement)
to keep
the household running smoothly.
The boys enjoyed midwinter break. Calen and Kyler participated
in an
indoor, pitching and hitting, baseball camp. Before the week
at camp, Calen
expressed a desire to play spring basketball rather than baseball.
Kyler
informed him, "We already paid for baseball so you're gonna
have to play!", a
boy after his mother's heart.
The boys loved the camp and are now fervently practicing baseball.
Both
of the big boys qualified for a free throw competition in March
so we aren't
quite ready to forsake basketball completely. In addition, Calen
qualified
for a hot shot contest, also in March.
Tanner preferred to spend two nights with Dad at the "hotel"
(hospital),
rather than go to camp. Tanner also got to go see Fantasia at
the Pacific
Science Center with his good friend, Jacob. As I type this, he
is at The
Tigger Movie with the Nelson family. The Breums had invited all
of the boys
to the same movie but two of the three thought they were too old
for Winnie
the Pooh. We are very thankful for all of our friends who have
remembered
the boys while John (and I) are at the hospital.
Even though Papa is newly retired he has little time to himself
as he
taxis boys to and from school (three different times during the
day), takes
boys to basketball practice, attends basketball games, and drives
to piano
lessons.
Gramma has done more laundry in the last two weeks than in
the entire
year previous. She keeps track of the boys' busy schedule while
juggling two
houses. The Hunt teachers and PTA have graciously offered to
supply dinners
for our family. This alleviates so much stress for Gramma. The
meals have
been absolutely delicious. John is disappointed to miss out on
the meals.
