Fife's
Director of Technology, Cindy Agnew, Recognized for
Her
Work on National Educational Initiatives
State
Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Terry Bergeson, made a
surprise visit to the Fife School Board's September Meeting. She
recognized Cindy Agnew for her involvement with the IT Career Cluster
Initiative, a national project 2000-2003. Boston's EDC group contacted
OSPI and invited Washington State to be one of eight states and
begin the development of K-12 national model for K-12 technology
users and Grades 9-College technology producers. Cindy was instrumental
in the initial development of the actual IT model. Also, she was
instrumental in developing partnerships with Oracle, Macromedia,
Microsoft and Adobe. Each developed curriculum materials that aligned
to national standards. Much of this work is now used across our
nation and UK. For more information and resources about the IT Career
project and the other career clusters, go to http://www.careerclusters.org
or Education Development Center, Inc (EDC) http://www.edc.org/ewit.
We are proud of you, Cindy!
