The Fife School District is saddened to announce that our superintendent, Mr. John McCrossin, passed away August 26 following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. McCrossin exemplified the ‘Fife For Life’ philosophy and will be greatly missed. Thousands of students were profoundly influenced by his steady leadership and love of our district. His family is requesting privacy at this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

A message from our school board:

The Fife School District family and our community are sad to report our leader and Superintendent John McCrossin has passed away after a brave battle with cancer. John is a long time valued employee of the district serving as a teacher, coach, principal, district administrator, and superintendent. John along with his wife Connie and sons Kyle & Kevin are long time residents of Fife/Milton and were always involved and graciously gave back to the community and school district he loved so much. John was known for his “roll up your sleeves” work ethic in everything he did and would take on any task that needed to be done. When the superintendent job became available in 2013 it was very clear John’s passion and leadership was what this district needed and wanted.

John had many families and friends - including his Fife School District family - that he cared deeply for. In this past school year, John established the framework for the Fife School District to successfully move forward for years to come. We thank John McCrossin for his many years of dedication and spirit in which he served and led the district.
