Key Concepts for Learning:

 

To relate the novels (we read Slave Dancer & The Trojan War) to topics we study in Social Studies/ Language Arts by researching the veracity of the background material presented by the authors. The student will determine what is truth, supposition, or fictional license by the author through the results of their own research.

 

Lesson Design:

 

The student will produce a geographical display of material they have found through internet and library research. Emphasis is put on teaching something new to the viewer in a clear and coherent format. The display is presented to the class and the student explains the process they used to produce the work as well as an overview of the information displayed.
