SLMS Board Presentation - November 2009

Monday night, November 23rd, the Mathematics Team of Mrs. Millen and Mr. Tiegs presented the student developed Mathematics PowerPoints to the School Board.  They were accompanied by Ali Flierl, Emma Watkins, Tristen Sawyer, Gabrielle Cruz, Kelly Oberbilling and Katie Breland, who bravely stood up and showed the work they designed to help their peers better understand mathematics.

PowerPoints were produced based on identified Difficult to Learn (DTL) and Hard to Teach (HTT) concepts by both students and teachers.  The board was impressed by the creativity and clarity of the PowerPoints.  Gabrielle Cruz received a loud round of applause for her work in creating a lesson in Spanish.  It is the goal to have all of DTL/HTT concepts posted to the website in the future both in English and multiple languages.
