SLMS Outstanding Citizens

Each month students are selected by their teachers to be honored as Outstanding Citizens.  Each month has a theme and the students are selected because the exemplify that theme.  Teachers comment on why they chose a particular student.  Each student is awarded a certificate, a special table at lunch (with treats), and peer recognition.

Mrs. Millen wrote:  Elijah often volunteers to do examples in class either verbally or on the board.  If he makes a mistake he simply corrects himself and moves on without giving up.  He has a special type of inner confidence that many students lack.

Mr. Hollis wrote:  Omar gives up his lunchtime to come and work until he fully understand math

concepts.

Mrs. Thomas wrote:  Tanner is always in class and well prepared for the day.  He makes sure all of his assignments are done correctly and turn them in on time.  He is very responsible in class and shows other studetns what a responsible student looks like!
