STEPS FOR CONVERTING METRIC MEASUREMENTS

1.  Write k, h, d, (m,g,l) d, c, m   [King Henry does drink chocolate milk.]

2.  Look at the two units being converted.

3.  Decide whether they are being converted from smaller to larger OR larger to smaller.

4.  If smaller to larger than move the decimal point to the LEFT.             

     If larger to smaller then move the decimal point to the RIGHT.

5.  Count how many places to move the decimal point.

HINT:  If you don't see a decimal, it is after the last number.

HINT:  If the decimal is before all the numbers, you must put a zero in front of it.
