CELL - the basic unit of life.  All organisms are cells OR are made of cells.

ORGANISM - anthing that can live on its own.

LIVING - exhibits ALL the essential characteristics of life.

NON-LIVING - never has been and never will be alive.

DEAD - was alive, but now is not.

DORMANT - an organism that is at rest and not showing/exhibiting the characteristics of life (a seed or an egg).

FIELD OF VIEW - everything you can see when looking through a microscope.

MAGNIFICATION - to make an image appear larger by using a lens/microscope.
