I update grade checker every 2-3 days, many times there are no new assignments, but a few students will have turned in late work or will have redone a paper to help improve their score. So I update grade checker every few days so students and parents this progress.
I will send home individual student progress reports about every 3 weeks, I request these be signed by a parent and returned to school for a grade.
I post grades by code number in my classroom approximately every week thus students always know their current grades for reading and english.
Make up work - Parents, did you know your child can redo any low assignment or test score and earn up to 80% towards their overall grade. Also students each month are allocated two "On Time Work Passes" these passes are tracked in the student's agenda and allow them to turn in two late papers each month and receive full credit. The idea is that sometimes evenings are so busy with activities that there may not be time to complete all homework for every class.
