In the 2019-2020 school year, Fife High School implemented several initiatives to increase opportunities for students to receive college credit while in high school and increase participation in higher level classes. Recently they shared with the school board some very impressive data showing the impact on students - especially as a result of the College in the High School program.
This year, 292 students are enrolled in AP classes and 182 students are taking CWU in the High School classes. They have earned 910 CWU credits and have saved over $226,000 by taking the classes while attending Fife High School.
Kudos to the FHS staff for this important work! Special thanks to Principal Brandon Bakke, Assistant Principal Paige Carroll, Career and College Specialist Christiann Thomas, and students Daniel Ige and Victoria Torres for your presentation to our school board!
